Frequently Asked Questions

How much are classes at Move Dance Studio?

Classes start at $58 per month. This is the price for our 1 hour once a week classes including tumbling classes. Tuition is based on a per hour per week basis. Click here for all our hourly dance and tumbling tuition rates.Autopay is required for all tuition and will run at the beginning of each month. Tuition is due by the 7th and considered late starting the 8th of the month.

What do the dancers in a 1 hour per week prep class learn?

These classes are for beginning dancers and include a combination of Jazz and Ballet. Additionally, some classes will incorporate elements of Hip Hop. By combining these styles, dancers receive exposure to different forms of dance. Dancers will learn two dances and perform in our Winter and Spring Concerts. We allow 10 dancers enrolled into our tot classes and no more than 12 dancers in any of our other prep classes.

What is the required attire for class?

Dancers are encouraged to wear appropriate dance attire, such as leotards, tights, shorts, or leggings. We sell ballet shoes, turn shoes, and tights at the studio. We recommend buying these items from us to ensure they match. Dancers should secure their hair away from their face during classes.

Which age class should my child be in?

We follow the school grades as guidance for classes. We suggest that you select the class for their current grade level. This will ensure they are in classes with students their same age. If dancers have a good amount of previous experience parents should contact us about class options.

What are the other costs associated with these combo classes?

Dancers will purchase 1 costume for approximately $80 that will be used for both recitals. Concert fees are $40 and will be charged for each concert. This fee allows your dancer to participate in the concert with free admission for your family members. We do not sell tickets to our concerts.

Where do you hold your concerts?

We hold them at a local high school or junior high in Utah County.

Can my daughter be on one of your competition teams?

Auditions for competition teams are held annually in May for the upcoming dance season. If dancers are unable to attend those tryouts they need to set up a private audition with the owner or one of the team directors.

What should my dancer wear to their first class?
Comfortable dance attire — a leotard, tights, shorts, or leggings — works well. Hair should be pulled back away from the face. If your dancer doesn't have dance shoes yet, that's okay for the first class; we sell ballet shoes, turn shoes, and tights at the studio and recommend buying through us to make sure everything matches.

What should we bring?
A water bottle and their dance shoes (if they have them) are all you need. We recommend leaving valuables at home.

Where do I drop off and pick up?
Dancers can be dropped off and picked up at the front door of both our Lehi and Highland studios. Please keep the flow of traffic moving and watch for dancers as you pull in and out.

What if my dancer needs to miss a class?
We encourage makeups. Dancers can attend a makeup class in any class of a similar age and level to make up for a missed absence.

How do I know if my dancer is in the right class?
We group classes by grade level to keep dancers with others their same age. If your dancer has prior experience, reach out to us and we can talk through the best fit.

What is the withdrawal and Refund Policy

To withdraw from a dance or tumbling class, you must notify the studio by the 15th of the month prior to the month you wish to drop. Classes cannot be dropped online — all withdrawals must be processed by office staff. Please email info@movedanceutah.com to request a drop.

No refunds will be given for concert fees, costumes, or other associated costs once a dancer has withdrawn from a class.
